DOE Invests $45 Million into Domestic Solar Manufacturing

The funding supports the pilot manufacturing of solar components.

The Department of Energy (DOE) announced the investment of $45 million into the pilot manufacturing of solar panel components for American products. Solar power plays a key role in the efforts of President Biden’s administration to transition the nation to clean energy.

However, solar technology currently has two major drawbacks: it is most effective in the equipment made for the sole purpose of generating solar power, such as solar panels, and that equipment is primarily manufactured in and imported from China.

Incorporating solar technology into other products, such as farm equipment, vehicles, and buildings, reduces the amount of space usually required for solar panels and creates a need for domestically manufactured products that are unique to the American marketplace.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Granholm to seek the Lord’s leading as she oversees federal energy investments.
  • For U.S. energy officials as they implement the president’s energy policies.
  • For wisdom for the president and his advisors as they pursue alternate energy sources.
